Arts Council Project: More Information

“Different Communities, One Tribe” is an Arts Council England supported project which has been awarded to James J Turner. This has funded an album of songs, which James has titled “Crossed Paths”.

James was inspired to write the album “Crossed Paths” after his experiences at the many gatherings and festivals he performs at each summer.

What is it that people love so much about living in a field, alongside a diverse group of other people, away from the comfort of their usual, largely urban, homes and communities? And what is it that binds these people into forming a whole NEW community?

James has explored this theme on "Crossed Paths" and will be touring this new album throughout his 2026 festival season. Also, as an important part of taking this project “on the road”, James will also be hiring a Stall space at these festivals, and on his pitch will be featuring his new songs by performing 3 - 4 short performances a day, whilst inviting and including interaction with festival audiences. Then, at every festival above, he will perform at least one evening main stage event.

Watch out too for several  single releases throughout 2026 and extensive UK radio tours to promote the album, including interviews and live sessions.
